The parents’ section of our website is the place to find information pertinent to our St. Mark’s family, such as the Parent Handbook, forms, and the school calendar. Parent involvement is important to St. Mark’s, and plays a key role in the success of the child. We encourage you to take advantage of one or more of our volunteer opportunities, as well as scheduling for parent/teacher conferences, offered three times during the school year.
Fun Fair 2020: Cancelled due to Health & Safety.
Due to the emerging threat of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), it is with an abundance of caution and in the interest of health and safety, SMMS staff, in consultation with the Advisory Board Chairperson, made the difficult decision to cancel the Fun Fair this Saturday, March 14.
The decision to cancel the Fun Fair was not an easy decision to make. Each year approximately 350 people attend Fun Fair. A majority of our attendees are alumni and their extended families. Our first priority is the health and safety of SMMS families, staff, alumni, their extended families and our community. In order to mitigate potential exposure to COVID-19 we are following preventative measures recommended by the CDC.

Inclement Weather/School Closing
There will be no school or BAC on days when Fairfax County Public Schools are closed due to bad weather. Please check your TV/radio/internet instead of calling the school; if school is closed, phone calls will go to the answering machine. When Fairfax County Public Schools open late due to bad weather, we open at regular time.
In the case of Fairfax County Public Schools closing early on a day already in progress, we will not have afternoon class and all of the children will go home at 12:00; the BAC program will close at 2:00pm. If parents have children who stay the afternoon in BAC, parents must continue to keep abreast of what changes Fairfax County Public Schools might make throughout the day in cases of extremely bad weather. Please realize that it is always the parents’ responsibility to decide whether or not to drive their child to school any time the weather and driving conditions threaten to become worse or dangerous.
